UIM Launches Habitat for Humanity York Region Website

UIM has always been a fan of Habitat for Humanity, our work with them goes back many years to the early days of our company. We are pleased to have recently partnered with the York region affiliate to assist them in refreshing their web strategy through the development of their new Content Managed website. The site allows the affiliate to maintain the site on their own with little to no intervention from UIM. Although we love working with Not for Profits, we believe that it’s important to empower them to do as much as possible on their own to effectively manage their resources.

Habitat York Region joins other Habitat affiliates that we are working with, which includes, Halton Region, Waterloo and Toronto.
Habitat for Humanity York Region builds simple, decent and affordable homes in partnership with the community and with the families who will own them.  All homes are built almost completely by volunteers using building materials, land and money donated by individuals, businesses, and various community groups.

Families purchase their home from Habitat and make monthly payments on their no-interest mortgages over a period of 20 to 30 years.  In addition, families are required to complete a minimum of 500 hours of ‘sweat equity’ by volunteering to help build their own home, other Habitat homes or helping us in other ways.  The Habitat approach provides families with a hand up, not a hand out.

Habitat for Humanity York Region is an affiliate of Habitat Canada since 2001, with their first home dedicated in 2002. Since then Habitat York Region has dedicated a total of 9 homes in York Region and 3 homes International, and is currently engaged in its tenth project; the restoration and dedication of Historic Hawkins House in Markham, Ontario. To learn more about Habitat for Humanity York Region please visit the newly launched website at www.habitatyork.ca.

Habitat for Humanity Women Build
Written by UIM

Habitat for Humanity Toronto has engaged UIM Internet Solutions over the years to develop various websites and technology solutions (watch for news of an exciting volunteer management system coming soon!).  As trends and technology have evolved, Habitat is always trying to look ahead and stay connected with volunteers, supporters, and the general public.  UIM recently completed its latest site for Habitat, www.helpwomenbuild.ca, which was designed for the specific purpose of building momentum for the Women Build Blitz, May 1st – 9th, 2009.

Women Build is about building homes, with a focus on promoting women as leaders and more importantly, to provide an opportunity for women to learn new trades  or skills, under the direction of both men  and women skilled tradespersons. A Women Build includes all the benefits of a regular Habitat for Humanity build, but adds a twist by focusing on the encouragement of women to get involved in what is considered an otherwise male dominated profession. Women Build is about spirit, empowerment, solidarity, fun, learning, and a whole lot of pride in working with a family to build a place they can call home.

Please visit www.helpwomenbuild.ca or www.torontohabitat.on.ca for more information or to support this most worthy cause.

JasonMadorsky.com - Real Estate Agent Seeks to Deliver Real Value

The art of buying and selling a home is not a mechanical process. Sure, there is the standard paperwork and baseline steps that need to be taken, but a home is like a piece of original art with no two being exactly the same. Real Estate professional Jason Madorsky embraces this notion as key part of his services and works with sellers to ensure the uniqueness of their homes are perfectly accentuated . UIM Internet Solutions developed the website www.JasonMadorsky.com to highlight Jason’s professional approach in maximizing his customer’s returns.

Jason and his Design Team work with clients to determine the best possible options in the Staging and Design process. Every home is different, but with expert designers on board, Jason purports that customers vastly increase their chances of selling for more money in a much quicker timeframe.

Collaborating with Jason on the website was a highly enjoyable process as his approach and philosophy mirrored UIM’s practices quite closely. As Jason states on his website, “When you sell your home you are not just selling a home, you are selling a lifestyle. By staging your home you allow people to imagine themselves and their family living there.” Along the same lines, the most effective websites are those that keep the User in Mind!
