UIM and CACDS partner to deliver secure Members intranet and website for the CACDS (Canadian Association of Chain Drugstores) CACDS is the national voice of community chain pharmacy in Canada. The 22 members of CACDS are traditional chain drug stores, grocery chains and mass merchandisers with pharmacies. Together, CACDS members operate 5,602 pharmacies that dispense 78% of the nation's prescriptions each year. CACDS members employ more than 97,000 Canadians, including 70% of the pharmacists in Canada. The 180 Associate Members of CACDS represent all supply categories and services in the retail pharmacy industry, including pharmaceuticals, health and wellness products, self-care medications and other consumer products. CACDS was founded in 1995. Faced with the challenge of improving communications to their internal and external communities, CACDS hired UIM to redevelop their website. UIM faced the challenge by creating a new brand and structure for the site. By incorporating our Advance Content Management System CACDS was empowered to easily maintain the content. We also restructured the association’s member area to improve usability and expand the scope of information included in this section. Another key enhancement was the creation of commentary forums to facilitate the collection of opinions on CACDS research papers. Another improvement came in the form of several print pieces which were designed as a part of the overall communications strategy. The result of the combination of these individual modifications, was a greater solution that brought the CACDS increased efficiency and ease through rebuilding their internal and external communications.
